Sixth-plate ambrotype behind mat and cover glass. Found near Gridley, California, which is north of Sacramento.

 Ambrotype is in very good antique condition with some of the black paint flaking from the back - the image itself is not flaking, though it has some age-related darkening around the perimeter of the image.
