24-track live recording mixer, a recording solution for a new era

TASCAM, which has always provided advanced recording solutions with innovative products such as the DA-88 digital 8-track recorder with DTRS digital recording standard and the PORTASTUDIO series of portable multi-track recorders, has now developed a 24-track live recording mixer, the Model 24. TASCAM, which has always provided advanced recording solutions with innovative products such as the PORTASTUDIO series of portable multitrack recorders, has now developed the Model 24, a 24-track live recording mixer that combines its advanced recording technology cultivated over many years with the latest audio technology. The "Model 24" is a multitrack recorder, mixer, and audio interface that can be used flexibly in all aspects of live performance, rehearsal, and recording, providing a new recording solution that meets the diverse needs of today's musicians and engineers.

Simple design for intuitive operability
The simple yet classic design of the analog console provides intuitive operability, with a 100mm fader for precise volume control, friendly EQ and AUX knobs, and a 1-knob compressor for natural compression.

TASCAM's advanced recording technology
The Model 24 is equipped with a multitrack recording engine that incorporates all the recording technology TASCAM has cultivated over the years, enabling simultaneous 24-track recording to SD card, simultaneous 22-track playback, and simultaneous 8-track punch-in/out functions. In addition, TASCAM's studio-quality 16-channel microphone preamplifiers provide high-quality, clear sound.

Flexible Connections
22 analog input channels consisting of 20 balanced inputs (12 mono and 4 stereo) and 1 unbalanced stereo input. The unbalanced stereo input is equipped with a BluetoothR receiver, allowing connection of mobile devices such as smartphones for background music playback. The 22-channel USB audio interface also allows direct multitrack recording to your DAW.

Durability and Reliability
Lightweight and highly portable, the TX-1000 can be taken to a variety of sites, including studios and live venues. TASCAM's long-standing durability, which has been trusted by professionals in the field, provides a stable working environment anytime, anywhere.

Record
The Model 24 is equipped with a multitrack recording engine that incorporates all the recording technology TASCAM has cultivated over the years. A total of 24 tracks can be recorded simultaneously, 22 tracks can be played back simultaneously, and 8 tracks can be punched in and out simultaneously. It is ideal for live concerts, rehearsals, recording, and a variety of other environments.

●Mix
With 22 channels of analog inputs, it can handle a wide variety of on-site needs. Studio-quality mic preamps, a 1-knob compressor for natural compression, a 3-band equalizer for a wide range of sound creation, and a 100mm fader for fine-tuning the volume are all controls designed for easy operation. The intuitive design allows for quick and accurate mixing. The intuitive design eliminates the need for complicated menu operations and searching for presets, providing easy-to-use, high-quality analog sound and a highly operable mixing environment on stage and in the studio.

●Connect
The USB audio interface engine with low latency and ASIO compatibility enables multi-track recording to your DAW. The MODE switch enables one-touch selection of input source for mixing, playback, recording, etc., for smooth operation without the hassle of reconnecting cables or re-setting levels.

●Channel Surfing
Channels 1-2 are equipped with XLR and TRS input jacks. They also have insert input/output jacks for connecting external comps, EQs, etc. In addition, there is a preamp gain controller (with signal/overload LED), a 100Hz low-cut switch, and a line/instrument switch that can accommodate a high-impedance (Hi-Z) input.
The MODE switch is used to switch between the various input sources: LIVE mode is for signals from each analog input section, PC mode is for signals from a DAW, and MTR mode is for playback signals from an SD card.

Directly below the MODE switch is a 1-knob compressor that allows instant dynamics adjustment even during live performances. Also included is a 3-band semi-parametric EQ (variable midrange frequency) to aid sound creation on vocals and guitar. (Channels 1-12)

Next to the EQ section are three auxiliary send knobs (Mon1, Mon2, FX), which provide outputs to external monitors, effects, etc.

Next, the fader section is topped by a PAN knob, REC and MUTE buttons, and a 100 mm fader for fine-tuning the volume. All input channels have assignment switches for main mix, subgroup, and PFL.
*Line/instrument switching switches are provided on 1-2 channels only.
*1-knob compressor and 3-band semi-parametric EQ are provided on channels 1-12.

Channels 13-20 support stereo input and are equipped with XLR mono input jacks and TRS stereo input jacks; the TRS stereo input is designed to switch to mono even when only the L side is connected.

Channels 21/22 can also be connected to stereo RCA inputs or 3.5 mm stereo mini inputs suitable for CD players, mobile devices, or other inputs, or to Bluetooth connections. The AUX send can also be used to output to Mon 1 or Mon 2.

Master and Commander
The Model 24's master section has a 100 mm fader that controls the main mix, monitor, and submix outputs as well as the input channels, and it also has mute and assign switches. The upper section of the master section is equipped with digital effectors that have gained popularity in the TASCAM PORTASTUDIO series, with 16 easy-to-use presets for various applications, including reverb, delay, chorus, and flanger. Furthermore, there is a control panel for operating the MTR functions and a 7-band graphic EQ that can be assigned to main/monitor switching. The analog output panel includes external output jacks for main, sub, and monitor, as well as headphone and footswitch jacks.

Make Tracks
The MTR function, which is the culmination of TASCAM's recording technology, is intuitive and easy to use. Recorded sound sources can be saved as individual tracks (mono WAV files) on an SD card, and can be mixed down on the Model 24 itself. The recorded WAV files can also be imported into your DAW for editing and mastering.

Live and Let DAW
The Live and Let DAW is equipped with studio-quality mic preamps, making it not only a MTR but also a high-quality USB audio interface. 24 channels can be simultaneously recorded to a DAW, allowing for backup recording to a DAW in addition to recording to an SD card. The DAW can record 24 channels simultaneously to a DAW.
It also supports simultaneous playback of 22 channels from a DAW, allowing for analog hardware mixing.
