The legendary synthesizer reimagined. Expanded voice count expands the possibilities.
Korg is proud to announce the new wavestate mk II. Fully compatible with the sounds and samples of the original wavestate, wavestate SE, and wavestate native software, as well as many excellent third-party libraries, the updated sounds and software stay fresh (they are also available in the original The compact chassis with 37 full-size keys is easily transportable and fits neatly into any stage, studio, or desktop setup.

Wave Sequencing 2.0
With WAVESTATION, each step of a wave sequence could be assigned a duration (length), sample, and pitch. This allowed for the creation of catchy patterns, but the patterns were simply played back in an endlessly repetitive manner. What if we could change the playback method in a more organic and unexpected way, rather than just repeating it?

With Wave Sequencing 2.0, we have separated the timing, sample, and melody (pitch) into separate tracks
so each can be controlled separately. We also added new elements such as shape, gate time, and step sequencer values. Each of these is called a "lane," and each lane can have a separate number of steps, start and end points, and loop points.

A note on starts the sequence, and information from each lane makes up the sound. Samples may be pronounced with separate duration, pitch, shape, gate time, and step sequencer values. The start, end, and loop points of each lane may also be modulated separately with controllers such as velocity, LFO, envelope, and mod knobs. This allows you to create sounds where each note of the chord changes separately.

It is also possible to randomize the order of the steps in each lane with the real-time controls. Furthermore, steps can be randomly skipped by modulating probability from 0 to 100%. The resulting sound is organic and ever-changing with real-time control. You can also vary the wave sequence with the four arpeggiators.

Massive samples, 96 stereo voices
Totaling several gigabytes, wavestate's sample library is thousands of times larger than the original WAVESTATION. This means that there is a huge amount of sample material for wave sequencing. The sample bank includes high-quality samples created by Plugin Guru and new samples from Korg, as well as carefully selected libraries from NAUTILUS, KRONOS and KROME. Of course, we have also included all the samples that were built into WAVESTATION and those that were included on the optional PCM card. These vast samples can be used for up to 96 stereo voices with clear sound from Korg's unique anti-aliasing sample playback technology.
