These Kluson Deluxe single-line guitar tuners came to us many years ago in a box of parts from Chicago wholesalers so we can't say exactly what guitar they were from. However the lack of a second button-shaft/worm hole on the opposite side of gear cover, and the "PAT. APPLD" stamp at the bottom edge of the gear cover, suggests this set dates to the 1947-1952 period. The tuner posts are 1 inch long and 1/4" in diameter, which means they are the standard size for most solid guitar headstocks. The original celluloid buttons suffered celluloid "rot", but the new buttons we're including will make them functional again (if you want larger buttons they're available from AllParts).  The green you see on a couple of the button shafts is leftover from the dying celluloid of the original buttons. We've included a set of 6 nickel plated bushings from Stew Mac (part #0723) which are excellent repros of the original style used on many Gibson guitar models that were shipped with these 3-on-a-plate Kluson gears.  Note that the nickel on the plates and gear covers is in good shape but there is some tarnish so don't expect perfection.  Button shafts seem pretty straight but it's hard to turn them without buttons. Considering the lack of wear to the plates from screw heads there's a fair chance these tuners were never installed.

We ship on the Wednesday following the end of the Sunday auctions.
