    Description

Here is a 120+ year old "Solar" Carbide bicycle/motorcycle headlamp light. This was made long before WWII and is a TURN OF THE CENTURY bicycle! If you like amazingly fun HARD TO FIND vintage original bikes parts, this may be a great bike for you.

I am much more knowledgable on bikes made in the past 75 years. If you are viewing this you probably know more about it than I do. BE SURE to check out all pics and be your own expert on this one. I took many and have nothing to hide!

What you see is what you get as shown.  I bought this one so long ago, I dont even remember when it was. The rear side says C.M. Hall Lamp Co.  Kenosha, WI. (long before the Fonz was hanging out... At least according to AL in the Weezer video!) What you see is what I have. Will look nicer with a front lens added.  Check out the cool glass green and red side lenses! LAST patent date on this one is June 15th 1899! WOW!

Put in your display case or install on your Turn of the Century bicycle, chainless, Pope, Columbia, Elgin, Schwinn, Hawthorne, Hiawatha, Rollfast, Harley Davidson, Indian, Miami, Flying Merkel, etc etc etc.

IF you ever think you could use these DO NOT MISS OUT! Stuff like this never comes along!

NOTE, obviously missing the lens and the lower cup thing where the carbide goes into. PRICED ACCORDINGLY. Great for parts, display, or fix it up! Cool item for your display case as well.

*NOTED FLAWS I got this one exactly like you see it.  If you click on any of the pics they get very large to show lots of detail. Please take a look at all pics for exact condition and email with any questions before you bid.

*Think about the world at this time. Columbia/Pope was the biggest bicycle manufacturer. Schwinn was a new company at the time! High Wheel bikes were still relatively new! New companies were Gormully and Jeffery, Flying Merkel, etc. Bicycle clubs were high society and this is the era that created the Wheelmen we know today! In the 1940s bicycles like this were simply considered old bicycles and most did not survive the "World War II Scrap Drives" Google that for some fun interesting history!

*I have lots of other rare bicycles, bike parts and bike accessories, as well as vintage car parts and unique items on auction this week! Check them out! iver johnson pope columbia town and country geneva penny farthing high wheel Combine items to save yourself $$$ on shipping! Email with any questions you may have.
