This is a rare miniature flow blue dinner set bowl dated circa 1840, originally part of a complete miniature children's dinner service. The round shallow bowl with a flat bottom measures 3-1/8 inches across.  Brilliant flow blue transfer printed decoration finished with pearlware glaze, extremely well potted, to the standards usually only seen in full-size Staffordshire table wares. Decorated with a Romantic Chinoiserie image of an Asian bird in a willow tree, bordered with contrasting scrolling floral border trim.

It is marked with a black printed 'Copeland late Spode' and an impressed COPELAND, dating to early to mid 19th century.

The bowl is in very good condition with a no chips, cracks, or repairs. Kiln kiss  and glaze pops on inner rim, stilt marks kiln fleck border transfer skip and other typical manufacturing imperfections, original to the making, consistent with age. A delicate little piece to display in the finest dollhouse, a pocket size work of art! Children's soft paste transferware of this quality is quite scarce and highly sought after.
