Goryeo celadon Tea Bowl.
14th century
This is the finest work of Goryeo celadon, possessing the early jade color.
It has been repaired with kintsugi. It's thin but well-fired, making it an eye-catching piece. The mouth opens outward, and the body has a slightly natural and beautiful distortion, a form that contemporary ceramic artists rarely manage to express.
I think it dates back to the founding period of the Early Joseon Dynasty because there are no pin marks of silica sand on the bottom of the bowl, suggesting it was fired on a thin layer of sand.
