About This Items

  1. The photo shows the aircraft after painting and assembly. This diesel locomotive was an electric diesel locomotive developed by Toshiba in 1954 in partnership with Cooper Bessemer for the engine part and General Electric for the electric part. Initially called the DD41 class, it was later given the model name DD90 and put into service. Some of the models were officially purchased and operated by JGR, and were used mainly for replacement at Omiya Station in Saitama Prefecture from 1958, but due to the development process, many parts were imported and it took a long time to order parts, so the locomotives were often idle, and were scrapped in 1971.
