before shipping they are charged, and paired with my iPhone for sound quality, and proper bluetooth syncing.     I have my own personal pair of inserts i use for testing.     the ones included are authentic skull candy, and are unused. 

All headphones are isopropyl  wiped, cleaned, and sanitized before repacking !
