This is a super rare classic boxed all original 1:25th scale 1960 Chevrolet El Camino 3-in-1 annual automobile kit #149 made by SMP. This scarce 64 year old kit was sold in hobby shops, department stores, 5 & 10 stores, and toy stores for 1 year only. From the fall of 1959 through the summer of 1960. This vintage highly detailed kit has never been reissued by SMP or AMT. Parts are included enabling the buyer to build it one of three ways: stock, custom, or competition.
This car kit is in good, built up, home painted, restorable condition. The parts that make up the kit are mill styrene white, clear and red tinted transparent, chrome plated styrene, vinyl tires, 4 screws, and 2 metal axles. Also included are detailed building instructions and unused decals. The car has been partially dismantled. There is no noticeable damage to any part, including the fragile windshield frame on the body (see photos). The kit is complete All parts in the directions are included. This kit has molded shut hood. SMP did not included any engine parts in this kit
The 8.25" x 3.5" x 2" cardboard box bottom and top are complete and intact, with strong edges and corners. The has a few storage type scuffs on it. Box colors are still somewhat bright and shiny.
An ultra rare vintage 64 year old car kit in this condition is a must for any GM, Chevy, El Camino, Impala / Bel Air / Biscayne, or 1:24th / 1:25th model car fan or collector who seeks the rarest and best available for relatively easy restoration.
