Description

Nikon Black Body EL2 SLR w/ Nikkor 50mm 1:1.4 AI Lens

  • From the line of great Nikon 35mm film cameras.
  • Seems to be working well with the following to keep in mind:
  • Shutter speeds from 1/30 and up look and sound really good. Slower speeds are too slow. To me they appear to be about double the marked speed.
  • Meter readings are appropriate – can’t guarantee perfect accuracy for a camera made in the late 1970s.
  • Nikkor lens is operationally excellent. Aperture blades are spotless and snappy. Focusing is easy. External glass has a few very fine cleaning marks and a little internal dust. Includes Nikon lens cap.
  • Self-timer works well.
  • Split image focusing is great. Image in viewfinder is excellent.
  • Body shows some paint wear and a few minor marks.
  • I put a previously unused battery in it (it goes under the mirror) and will leave it there. Battery isn’t new, I bought it a few months ago.
  • As with all vintage cameras, it’s worth shooting a test roll of film to see if it’s working well for your needs. If you want to make sure it is working like new, have a CLA done.
  • Body and Lens made in Japan.

International shipments: Shipping costs Do not include any import taxes or fees charged in your country. NOTE: If your total order is more than $2,500 US you MUST have a shipping address in the United States, or be willing to break up the order so no single item is more than $2,500 US.

Refund Policy: Items that are not as described will result in a refund of the bid amount upon return of the item in the condition in which it was shipped.  This does not apply to finding a small scratch when the description says minor surface wear or similar issues.  If a package is damaged in transit, and if it was insured, the buyer must cooperate in filing the insurance claim (not a big deal).  The box and packing material must be kept and available for the post office if an item is insured and damaged in transit.  If an issue is not addressed in the description (I attempt to provide comprehensive descriptions) or if the bidder doesn’t understand the description and he or she did not ask a question about it, no refund will be made. Note: if the Post Office damages an item and still delivers it, it will refund only the bid amount and not the postage.  I will not make up the difference.
