This product is a vintage Gzhel porcelain figurine from the Russian Federation. It features a prince and princess riding a wolf, all handcrafted and brush painted in blue and white ceramics. Gzhel refers to a Russian style of blue and white ceramics, which takes its name from the village of Gzhel and the surrounding area, first being produced in 1802. It has a beautiful glossy finish except for four tiny spots on the underside of the wolf's paws. These were done with a sandy texture to imitate, IMHO, the roughness of the wolf's paws. These rough spots can be seen in the last photo, which also shows that this figurine was made in Russia. On the bottom of the figurine is also the letter W within a square and another word I cannot decipher, possibly Russian.
