12V DC Power Relay Capacitor Filter Rectifier for Car Reverse Rearview Camera

Why when you put the vehicle into reverse, when the engine is started - does my reverse camera not work properly? A very common question.

The answer is because the vehicles CANBUS system drops the voltage from +12v to around 9-11v when the engine is started. As an after-market reverse camera works on a +12v system, it's not working because the power is insufficient. So, we need to keep the voltage stable and this is where the relay comes into play. The relay will convert the reverse feed into +12v so when reverse is engaged, it will keep the voltage stable.
