On the obverse: Pictured is a rifle and broken tree branch with a quote from a Chaim Nachman Bialik poem in Hebrew "ושירת חייו באמצע נפסקה" or translated to English "And his life's song stopped in the middle" and the quote in English of "In Midst of Life, We Are in Death". 

On the reverse: Pictures a soldier's helmet upside down with the Hebrew word "" for remembrance. A the the bottom it reads "IN MEMORIAM" and in Hebrew "את חללי מערכות ישראל אשר במותם צוו לנו החיים" which translated to English means "The fallen soldiers of Israel Forces whose death bequeathed to us life."
