This is an impressive Victorian era 2 piece Dome Top silverplated BUTTER DISH decorated in the Eastlake or Aesthetic Period style. The base is a footed platform with a pedestal, elevating the dish.

It is unmarked - but my research indicates it was made by Meriden in their pattern #2302.

Measurements:  9.5" tall to the tip of the fancy finial, 7" wide, 3.75" high to the rim of the base.
