Himalayan Spruce Tree Seeds

Himalayan Spruce's Weeping, Shiny Needled Branches Make a Great Addition to Any Landscape. It can Grow Anywhere between 70-100 Feet Tall or More in the Wild. The Brownish-Purple Female Cones are Pendulous or Loosely Hanging. It has the Longest Needles of Any Spruce in the World. This Tree is a Tall, Pyramidal in Shape, with Needled Conifers, & Horizontal Branching and Weeping Branchlets. It's Needle-like Green Leaves Surround the Branches and are Four-Angled in Cross-Sections. It's Bark is a Light Grayish Color.
(Picea smithiana) prefers full sun, moist & well-drained soils. It tolerates most pH of soil. It will tolerate nutritionally poor soils and very acidic soils.
Zones 7-10
Himalayan Spruce Germination:
1) Soak seeds in warm water for 24 hours.
2) Cold stratify by placing in a bag of moist vermiculite inside of the fridge for 45 days to break the seeds dormancy by mimicking their natural conditions outdoors.
3) Plant seeds 1/4" inch deep in a well draining seed starting mix while keeping in filtered light.
4) Use a heated propagator mat to keep the soil at 75 degrees F.
5) Expect germination between 15-30 days.
