As the Queen marks her milestone 95th birthday, this commemorative set celebrates her long and wonderful life from a mechanic during WWll to her marriage to Prince Philip, her role as Head of the Home Nations and of the Commonwealth.

Following tradition for British monarchs, the Queen has two birthdays. The 21st April is her actual birthday which she spends privately. 

Publicly it is marked by gun salutes in central London at midday: a 41 gun salute in Hyde Park, a 21 gun salute in Windsor Great Park and a 62 gun salute at the Tower of London.

Her Majesty's official birthday takes place on the second Saturday of June each year. The monarch is joined by other members of the Royal Family at the spectacular Trooping the Colour parade which moves from m Buckingham Palace, down The Mall to Horse Guards Parade.

There is also a public appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
