This listing is for 6 fertilised Dutch True Bantam Barbu D’Uccle Hatching Eggs available. These are rare and very good quality, sourced from show breeders. My pen is Mille Fleur colour/pattern with the exception of one female who is black mottled from the last of my black mottled family. I'm not convinced she's still laying but you never know you may get a black mottled in the mix!

Barbu D’Uccle aren't the most prolific layers but are fantastic pets with lovely inquisitive personalities.

The Barbu d'Uccle has a low posture, a full beard and a muff; the legs are heavily feathered and they have a single comb.

On average they have a weight in the range 790–910 g for Males and 680–790 g for Females.

Barbu d'Uccles are generally very friendly birds who do well with confinement. They tend not to wander off too far, so are suitable for smaller gardens. A good bantam for children due to their size and incredibly good nature.

Please note that because of their feathery legs, it is advisable to keep them in a covered run to prevent the feet/feathers becoming matted, preferably on a soft floor such as an appropriate woodchip or a course sawdust like bedding, without dust.

Females make good mothers and go broody often. So, as you would expect egg laying isn't their strongest trait.

When they do lay, the eggs are small, white/cream weighing around 30g.

I regulary test hatch and have had a hatch rate of 90-100% BUT, Please understand that posting can mean that the eggs can be internally damaged and this is the risk you take when buying posted eggs. I have always found that 24hr guaranteed by 1pm posting is much kinder on them. Please understand this is your choice. I have posted many who have hatched all of my eggs however it is very much a lottery. Please also note that once received these eggs will need to be rested point down for 24-48hrs before incubating. Rotating 2-3 times per day also.
