The C53 class steam locomotive was developed based on the C52 class imported from the U.S. by JGR, and was the only 3-cylinder tender type steam locomotive produced in Japan at that time. 97 cars were mass-produced between 1928 and 1929, and it is famous for being the traction engine of numerous honor trains including "Tsubame" and "Fuji". This product is an early model without smoke deflectors.
