Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Eduard Kretschmar' after 'Adolf von Menzel'. Eduard Kretschmar (1807-1858) was active as wood engraver. He worked together with Adolf von Menzel. Adolf von Menzel (1815-1905) originated from Breslau, where he started in the lithographic printing office of his father. He would grow to be the leading Berlin artist around 1870.
