Broadside dated Puebla, Mexico May 27, 1863 by General Forey, Commander in Chief of the Expeditionary French Army in Mexico. By it, he prohibits the export of gold and silver, except pocket money, from ports occupied by the French to any destination. Anybody violating this decree will be considered a smuggler and judged like one. This decree was given 10 days after the French captured the city of Puebla. With a stain and a tear on the right margin, not affecting text.
