Rare silvered sunburst factory dial and Oyster bracelet elevate this classic two-tone Oyster Perpetual. The riveted Oyster bracelet will fit a large gents wrist size of 7.5 inches in circumference comfortably, can be adjusted to a smaller size within the clasp or by removing links. This wonderful rare time piece has been recently inspected and throughly tested by a Rolex specialist watchmaker with no issues to report. Ready to enjoy!

The Oyster Perpetual is the cornerstone of the Rolex brand. Since its inception in 1931, it's laid the foundation for every model in the Rolex catalog and served as a staple collection for the company.

This example, the ref. 1005, is a relatively early iteration of the 1005 from 1965 with a two-tone construction. The much sought after riveted Oyster bracelet is a departure from the typical Jubilee bracelet, everything about the watch is quintessentially Rolex. The classic fluted solid gold bezel, timeless 34mm Oyster case, and deployant buckle complete with the Rolex insignia.

Part of what makes this particular reference 1005 special is the rare high shine silvered sunburst dial with light patina. The dial not only gives off a shimmer effect under direct sunlight or high beam lighting, it also provides a handsome contrast to the yellow gold accents and gives the watch a striking presence on the wrist. With this example, there are stylized hour markers and, of course, the iconic Rolex crown at 12 o'clock. In addition, there's the added bonus of tritium lume on the hands and lume plots sitting behind the hour markers.

This superb time piece offers Superlative Chronometer-certified movement. This model houses the automatic caliber 1560, upgraded from the 1530 within the Oyster collection in 1965.

The Rolex Oyster Perpetual range is on wrists all over the world, and it looks good on pretty much all of them. Still, the 34mm version is the most loved and worn by the Gentlemen of pure class and elegance, especially in two tone bi metal steel/gold.

"Few collectors and enthusiasts will immediately jump to talking about the tow time vintage variants – and that might be a mistake. One of the more understated members of the Rolex family, the reference 1005 has an amazing combination of real history, versatile style, and quality watchmaking that should get everyone from the casual watch wearer to the die-hard enthusiast excited."

This straightforward, 34mm Oyster Perpetual is an example of why Rolex can lay claim to the crown without anyone blinking an eye. Is it the most mechanically complex or intricately designed watch around? No, nor does it claim to be. Whether you've got one watch or 10, there's room in your collection for an Oyster Perpetual. Sure, you'll find the reference 1005 in steel and various precious metals, but there's something about the two tone version that just feels so right.

The path of success of watches in the 20th century is not to be separated from the legendary founder of Rolex, the Bavarian-born Hans Wilsdorf. He had his first big success with the model Oyster in 1926, the first waterproof watch. Rolex consistently relied on sturdy and reliable movements, therefore survived the “Quartz- Revolution” and succeeds to this day. A Rolex watch would not be as incomparable and covetous if it was the result of technical expertise alone. What labels a Rolex is the felicitous bond of leading-edge technology and a distinct philosophy of life. The best-known models are: Date, Datejust, Submariner, Oyster Perpetual, Sea Dweller, Yachtmaster, Cellini and Explorer.
