``Maximum speed'' is considered one of the indicators to measure the ability of a tuned car. Unlike time attacks or time attacks on circuits, there are fewer factors that depend on the driver's skill, and it is said that the ability of a tuned car can be conveyed more accurately and in an easy-to-understand manner to the reader. We have been focusing on "high speed". It is no exaggeration to say that this month's issue is a history of options, and we have divided the ``maximum speed'' into two main sections: ``High-speed circuits'' and ``Street''.
First, the ``High-speed circuit'' section introduces the highest speed tests conducted in Japan, including the JARI (Japan Automobile Research Institute) Yatabe high-speed circuit, the brake manufacturer's Akebono test course, and Workum Hokkaido. We also take a closer look at the domestically produced tuned cars that raced around Nardo, a huge 12km high-speed circuit in Italy.
On the other hand, in the ``Street'' edition, Mr. Okawa, a former Trust executive, talks about the Tomei Race, which was popular in the early days of Japanese tuning, including the New Zealand Fastest Attack, which was contested on a special course where public roads were closed, and the American Silver States Classic. Report on what it was like to enter events such as challenges.
