A delicate yellow metal antique brooch featuring a finely carved shell cameo portrait facing left.

The cameo is surrounded by four very tiny seed pearls in a yellow metal setting, and the bar structure has ten more seed pearls, ending in a trefoil shape at each end. All of the seed pearls are intact.

Closure was via a C-clasp but part of this has broken off, although it is still possible to close it by putting the pin behind the clasp.

The brooch measures c. 3.3cm at its widest.
