About the Author
Born in 1939 in Chiba Prefecture. After graduating from Narita High School in Chiba Prefecture, he worked for the Chiba Prefectural Police. After retiring from kendo special training, he served as an instructor at the Kanto District Police Academy and as a kendo instructor for the Chiba Prefectural Police. Since 1978, he has been teaching Kendo at Shofukan, a kendo hall, and even now, many swordsmen from Japan and overseas gather to seek guidance from Iwatate Hanshi. Currently, Shofukan Dojo Director, Shobi Gakuen University Kendo Club Instructor, All Japan Kendo Federation Councilor, All Japan Kendo Dojo Federation Vice President, All Japan Senior Kendo Association President.
