The Maneki Neko Cat is based on a wonderful Japanese tale of an old merchant who has no customers and only enough supper for one. A cat comes calling asking for food. The old man gives the food to the cat and goes to bed. When he wakes the cat is in the storefront beckoning customers into the store. The merchant's luck changes for the better all thanks to his generous nature and the gratefulness of the cat.

This particular cat is vintage from the 1950s. He's in good condition but does have some small areas of missing paint as shown in the photos. While I can't be sure I photographed every flaw, the photos do show the overall condition.

Thank you.
