Pennsylvania US 1 route marker.

Up for sale today is this Pennsylvania US 1 route sign. Made to the exact 1926 federal standard, as used between 1928 and approximately 1950 along this historic highway. US 1 is the longest US north-south route, passing through 15 states, from Maine to Florida. In Pennsylvania, the route runs southwest to northeast, near the southern border of the state, and the areas around Philadelphia follow most of the old Baltimore Pike and Roosevelt Boulevard
.

An original of these would cost many hundreds of dollars if it ever came to the market. So here is your chance to own an excellent display piece, for just a fraction of the price.

The sign is flat printed on heavy gauge steel, with completely accurate layout and fonts. It weighs about 4 pounds, 6 ounces, and is the correct size: 16 1/2 by 16 inches. It is a high quality, heavy steel sign. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection. This one will make even the most discerning collector stick their nose into the sign, as it looks that good from that close!

I can of course make these signs with any route number of your choice, and not just this style, but older and newer ones, and even the classic mileage, direction, and city limit guide signs from bygone eras. Anything you would like, made with unsurpassed quality right here in the good old US of A.
