Vtg Japanese Buddhist Altar Butsudan Part

This item is a decorative part from a Japanese vintage wooden Buddhist altar cabinet. The whole piece is painted in black and gold and features distinctive gold-colored metal pieces adorned with a floral pattern. The metal pieces on the bottom are black.

In Japan, the Buddhist altar is a place to enshrine the principal image that is the center of faith, and is a sacred place to hold memorial services for ancestors as a "small temple in the home".

• Good condition considering its age. Some chips. Scratches on the gold on the top part. Marks on the metal pieces. Wear and tear due to use. Please see the photos.
