A rural town has been experiencing frequent earthquakes of unknown cause for 30 years.
A young girl, Phoebe, moves in with her mother and older brother and begins living in an old mansion left by her grandfather.
There, she discovers a number of high-tech equipment she has never seen before, and a modified car labeled ``ECTO-1.''
Her grandfather, Egon Spengler, was a scientist and a member of the Ghostbusters, who sealed away the ghosts that attacked New York 30 years ago.
Phoebe discovers that the earthquake was caused by a ghost.
Just as her grandfather tries to uncover the secrets hidden in this town, the seal of ghosts is broken and the town is flooded with ghosts.
