Vtg Japanese Buddhist Altar Fitting Scroll
This is a Japanese vintage fabric and paper hanging scroll (Owakigake) representing Jusanbutsu, the 13 Buddhas. It is an icon displayed in Japanese Buddhist home altars, Butsudan. It is a powerful religious image, aimed to be at the center of an altar. This Owakigake is gold and dark blue with red accents. It is embellished with metal parts on the bottom.
