Lot of three original daguerreotypes, all quarter-plate (1/4), and all by the renowned photographer Samuel Root, Broadway, New York. Studio name in stamped in the bottom-right corner of each mat. All three were acquired together, along with another half-plate daguerreotype of the same man (not listed). I believe all three are members of the Torry Family - the man is ID'd as what looks like "Mr. Torry" inside his case.

The woman and girl have matching cases... they were probably taken on the same day.

All daguerreotypes measure about 4.75" x 3.75".

Condition Notes

Man's daguerreotype: No seals. Scattered areas of tarnish and spots on plate. Very tiny mat abrasions. You will have to look very hard to spot them. Case comes its cover, which is damaged (missing a rail).

Woman's daguerreotype: Scattered tarnish and mold spiders/spots. NO abrasions, scratches, swipes, dings or other man-made damage noted. Sealed with P-90. Most of the pieces of the original seals are still in case.

Girl's daguerreotype: Scattered tarnish and mold spiders/spots. NO abrasions, scratches, swipes, dings or man-made damage noted. Sealed with P-90. Most of the pieces of the original seals are still in case.
