of the most important and influential church fathers and Catholic philosophers.
He is remembered for his best-known works such as ‘Summa Theologica’ as well as his Bible commentaries on Old
Testament prophets and the Epistles of Paul. Throughout his commentaries,
Aquinas supports with his principle that everything Jesus did on earth was to
teach us and leave an example.
This extremely rare volume from the 1520 printing of ‘Catena Aurea’, or Aquinas’s commentary
on the four Gospels. This particular volume features his commentary on the Books
of Matthew and Mark.
