Babe Ruth is largely credited with starting MLB autograph collecting, as his willingness to sign for fans back in the 1920s and 1930s started a tradition among big league ballplayers that persists to this day. This FRED LYNN 75 ROY CA ANGELS AUTOGRAPHED & FRAMED PHOTO is in excellent condition, with the signature remaining somewhat difficult to see due to the similar color of the pen and his jersey, though up close it's much easier to distinguish, a bit of scattered wrinkling, and with some light scattered age wear evident (ALL pictured). Otherwise, the photo is in excellent shape, with absolutely no rips, holes, tears, or other damage. Most interestingly, it bears an elegant "Fred Lynn" autograph and "75 ROY" inscription hand signed in blue Sharpie at middle, depicts him standing in the on deck circle with a weighted bat on his shoulder as a member of the California Angels, and carries the original Major League Baseball Authentication "hologram" sticker at the lower left front corner. Fred Lynn had a very impressive 17 year MLB career as a centerfielder for the Boston Red Sox, California Angels, Baltimore Orioles, Detroit Tigers, and San Diego Padres from 1974-90. In 1975, he became the first player ever to win Rookie of the Year and Most Valuable Player in the same season. It measures 8" x 10", remains beautifully framed, and the photo itself is a 2006 "Cooperstown Collection" by Photo File. We personally had Mr. Lynn sign it during MLB's All-Star Game Weekend "FanFest" when it was held in San Francisco at Moscone Center in 2007.
