Up for sale today is this Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign. Made to the exact standard designed by Betty Willis in 1959 and still standing proudly today. This infamous sign has been seen in almost every piece of media that is set in the Las Vegas area, as it is prominently displayed in Paradise, Nevada, at the southern end of the Las Vegas Strip. Slightly less well-known is the back of the sign, as seen here, and as you leave the Strip.
The original isn't going anywhere anytime soon, and if it does, it would cost many thousands of dollars if it ever came to the market. So here is your chance to own an excellent display piece, for just a fraction of the price.
The sign is flat printed on steel, with completely accurate layout and fonts. It weighs about 1 pound, 8 ounces, and is a faithful rescaling from the original size down to 12 by 10 2/3 inches. It is a high quality, heavy steel sign. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection. This one will make even the most discerning collector stick their nose into the sign, as it looks that good from that close!
