1948 Press Photo Map shows situation in Hyderabad as Nizam orders cease fire
This map shows the situation in Hyderabad as the Nizam ordered his forces to cease firing on Indian invaders. Indian troops moved peacefully into Secunderabad, garrison city guarding Hyderabad city (1), the capital. Main Indian striking force from the Sholapur area (2) was 40 miles west of Hyderabad (arrow) when the cease-fire order came. Second column from the east was at Narkatpalli (3), 50 miles east of Hyderabad. Indians reported capture of a large arsenal at Aurangabad (4). Photo measures 7.25 x 8 inches. Photo Is dated 1948.
