RICHARD Bumper Automatic Vintage Watch w. Salmon Dial & Breguet Numerals c. 1950s

Founded in 1942 under the leadership of Robert Richard, Richard S.A. introduced a diverse range of wristwatches, encompassing the Richard Automatic, Richard Chronograph, and Richard Duoras lines, tailored to both entry-level and mid-tier segments. However, the dawn of the 1970s quartz crisis marked a turning point, ushering in a period of decline for the company. By 1978, Longines assumed ownership, initiating a new chapter in the brand’s history. Despite concerted efforts to revitalize production, Longines ultimately redirected operations away from the Morges facility, consolidating manufacturing in St. Imier by 1986. Since then, Richard S.A. has shifted its headquarters to St. Imier and currently operates an upscale interior décor boutique situated in Crissier, adjacent to Lausanne.

This vintage Richard bumper automatic on offer is a superbly-preserved timepiece of the company's golden era. Featuring a bewitching shiny salmon dial adorned with Breguet numerals that results in an austere yet refined aesthetic, this is a consummate dress watch for any occasion.

Case : unpolished stainless steel case measuring approximately 34mm (excluding crown) and 41mm from lug-to-lug with 18mm drilled lugs, screw-on caseback with Richard engraved, original crown and crystal.

Movement : Richard signed cal. A. Schild 1250 bumper automatic movement with 17 jewels.

Dial : original patinated salmon dial, applied steel Breguet numerals for the even markers and steel studs for the odd indices, original gold tone pencil handset steel and red sweep seconds hands.

Band : 18mm new old stock brown genuine lizard leather strap.
