John Carter (Taylor Kitsch) is a young Civil War veteran, hard-hit fighting at the front. In unclear circumstances, he ends up on an alien planet. There he becomes embroiled in a great conflict between the natives, Tarsus Tarkas (Willem Dafoe) and Princess Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins), who desperately needs his help. In a world on the brink of extinction, War-weary, Carter regains his self-confidence, and begins a fight on which the fate of Barsoom and its inhabitants depends. "John Carter" was based on the novel of the extremely popular in America writer Edgar Rice Burroughs, who became famous as the creator of Tarzan. Behind the camera stood Oscar winner Andrew Stanton, director and co-writer of one of the biggest hits of the Pixar studio – "WALL•E", and his partners are production manager Nathan Crowley, Oscar nominee for "The Dark Knight" and "The Prestige" or Mayes Rubeo, responsible for costumes in "Avatar". For Taylor Kitsch, who plays the main role, this film may turn out to be a ticket to a great career. The young actor has already been recognized with a Teen Award nomination for his role in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine". Amazing special effects and an exciting storyline!
