Marie Louis Sue exhibited in Paris at the Salon des Indépendants from 1901. Also an architect and ornamentalist, he worked mainly in the field of decorative art and often collaborated with André Mare. His painting, robust yet delicate, shows the influence of his period. While some of his works reflect the influence of Cubism as a method of construction and composition, the majority of his paintings give free rein to his taste for sparkling colour. Colour becomes the framework of his painting.
