Original 1850s, half-plate ambrotype of an actor in full costume. Housed in a nice, full case, with repaired spine.

This is a clear glass ambrotype; the emulsion is protected by cover glass, and the mat is placed on top of that. It is in overall very good antique condition as shown, with some age-related spotting. The preserver missing its bottom piece though the ambrotype still sits pretty securely inside of the case. The case is in very good condition, complete and intact with no repairs.
