Ireland Limerick/Cork mileages sign.

Up for sale today is this mileage sign from Ireland, with destinations of Limerick and Cork, written in both Gaelic and English. Made to the exact standards used starting in about the 1920s. This particular sign is for the Trunk Road T-6, which went from Dublin to Cork, through Athy, Kilkenny, and Callan (among many other towns and villages) along the way.

An original of these is very rare to find scrapped; they have long since been retired from the roadways of Ireland. So here is your chance to own an excellent display piece...without breaking the bank.

The sign is 19 by 7 inches, and weighs 3 lb. 3 oz.

This is a high quality, heavy steel sign. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection. This one will make even the most discerning collector stick their nose into the sign, as it looks that good from that close!
