postmarked June 15, 2016 at Spartanburg, SC. This 455' merchant cargo vessel

was one of a large group of Victory Ships named for American Cities. This ship was launched on

Aug 6, 1945 by Beth-Fairfield Shipyard at Baltimore, MD

and named for the City of Spartanburg, South Carolina. .

Color printed photo cachet #7110 of underway Victory ship by Alvin Eckert,

#9964 USCS. Cover franked with 3 cent Merchant Marine stamp from 1946 and a forever
