"I really love kid friendly horror films, The Willies will always be my absolute favorite but Stepmonster is a good contender. Granted the kid is a pervert and characters do die buuuuuut you could go with a lot more graphic lets be honest here. This has a stacked cast, the always great Alan Thicke who I still miss and Corey Feldman is even there as a psuedo Frog brother. This is right around the downfall of his career but he was still kind of a household name at this point, this movie feels like a classic 80's horror but just run through a 90's kids film filter its pretty special. I'm sure I'm of the one of the only people who actually like this, but how can you not enjoy a film called Stepmonster at least a little bit? I love that Roger Corman had something to do with this, it makes it that much special. Stepmonster is like a PG13 version of Eerie Indiana I 100% mean that in a good way, check it out." -Gabriel Jewett, Letterboxd
