From the estate of a family member comes the vintage wool coat with a fur collar. It’s a lovely tan color. This is a true vintage coat from Locke in Independence Kansas. The family strongly believes that this is from the late 1950s based on when the original owner lived there.

Overall this coat is in good condition for its age but it has been altered so please read and look at photos closely to see it’s true condition. I believe the bottom of the coat has been cut off as it is a little uneven and is un hemmed. It is small black marks all the way around on the outside as if someone measured to have it shortened but never finished the project. The only label remaining is the earlier mentioned store label. Perhaps any others were lost when the coat was altered. Therefore I can’t be sure of the fabric but it feels like wool to me. The coat is definitely in need of cleaning but I don’t see any moth holes on it at all. The type of fur on the collar is also unknown but it is a pretty taupe color. The collar is stitched on and safety pinned in one location. The lining is intact and in good condition. The coat has two front pockets. There are no buttons on the front. It has a set of ties inside the coat which you can see in the photos.

The length of the coat is approximately 42 inches. It measures 24 inches from arm pit to arm pit when laid flat. The sleeves are 18 inches long from armpit to the bottom of the rolled cuff.

This is a lovely coat that would make a wonderful project piece
