Vintage Japanese Go Game Stone Set

This is a vintage goishi, or go stone, set used to play the popular strategy board game Igo, or Go. This beautiful set of game pieces made from black slate stone and polished shell is contained in lidded black plastic bowls for easy, decorative storage.
Black and white stones are used as game pieces by two players. By placing the stones on the intersections of lines on a go board, the goal of the game is to section off a larger portion of the board as the other player.
