This is an antique metal safe deposit box manufactured in the United States in the early 1900s.  I found this box in my father's basement.   It is designed to store paper money. The box is identified by  N0. 68473.  The name plate says, "The Colonial Banking & Trust Co. LTD.  Main Street, Port Elizabeth, South Africa.  This box is VERY unique!  The box measures 4.25" long, 3.25" wide, 2.25" high.  There are some scratches and blemishes from many years of use.  It is steel, and there are no dinks.  It does not come with the original key, but I am including an all-purpose key that opens and closes the lock.  To lock, turn key to the left.  To open, turn key to the right.
