Michael Bentine in Let Yourself Go, 1968 large Poster from South Africa?
This is a decent (not perfect, but still pretty good) example of a 22” x 15” poster for the show Let Yourself Go, starring Michael Bentine, Joe Baker, Jane Fyffe and seven other named acts. At the top edge there is the name of African Consolidated Theatres Ltd – in association with George and Alfred Black. At the bottom edge it states that the opening date at the Empire (theatre) is Monday 23rd December. I found a reference to this touring show being in South Africa in December 1967. The date on the poster shows that this is from 1968. So I am not 100% sure that it is from South Africa, although it seems likely.
The Poster is on thin card. Fairly lightweight – but it cannot be rolled. For this reason – Please Note that I will only post the poster to a UK address. It has some minor creasing and a very small indentation (hole – although nothing is missing) on the letter H in Michael Bentine’s name. Also, it does not sit quite flat, due to how it has been stored. In all it scores around 73/100 – and as my pictures show, if it is to be displayed it looks fine.
