Japanese Lacquerware Bento Box Jubako

This is a beautiful 2 tiered Japanese lacquered bento box.  This box can be used for serving meals or taking on picnics.  Japanese lacquer is made using the sap of the lacquer tree.  Each piece takes weeks to months to make because each layer of the lacquer has to be added step by step.  Japanese lacquerware is very durable and can be used for years.  A picture of cranes is inlaid with Raden work.

  • Good condition. Cracked in the middle of the bottom box. Small damage to some of the corners. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos.
