This is an original press photo. Smoke rose from burning truck and bomb craters pocked the ground in the North Vietnamese village of Vinh Linh in an attack by South Vietnamese and American planes. The picture, the first received on Monday's retaliatory air strike, shows white dressed persons (arrow) running for cover. At center is a wrecked tin roof barracks. New retaliatory raids on North Vietnam were announced Thursday. Aero - bombings & raids - Vietnam. Photo measures 8.5 x 8 inches. Photo is dated 02-11-1965.
