Cloquet, Minnesota: stretching almost as far as the eye can see, this giant woodpile is only a small part of the 210,000 cords of pulpwood consumed annually by a paper mill at Cloquet, Minnesota. The four principal pulpwood species -- spruce, balsam, jack pine and aspen -- are all used in the manufacture of fine grades of writing, printing and converting paper. Photo measures 9 x 7 inches.
