TWO VINTAGE SPECIMENS FROM LOCALITIES IN KENT.

THIS IS FROM A FIRST-CLASS PRIVATE COLLECTION FROM WHICH I SHALL BE SELLING OVER THE COMING WEEKS AND MONTHS. INCLUDED WILL BE TYPE SPECIMENS, SUBSPECIES, LOCAL FORMS, EXTINCT LOCALITIES, HISTORIC SPECIMENS AND ABERRATIONS.

CARRIAGE SAVINGS ON MULTIPLE ITEMS: I always combine postage on multiple purchases and, to save buyers money, I will also gladly hold items, on request, should you wish to buy over a couple of weeks (maximum one month) and just charge one carriage fee. I just ask that items are paid for on a rolling week-by-week basis, within 4 days of the winning bid, and they will then be put aside.

However, the Ebay system does not automatically combine postage on multiple items, or week-by-week, so PLEASE WAIT for me to issue an invoice with the correct combined postage options rather than paying for items individually and then seeking a refund of your overpayment. I send combined invoices without delay as soon as all my items have ended for that day.

SELECTION OF POSTAL SERVICE AND INSURANCE: The amount of insurance cover per consignment against loss or damage in the post varies according to the postal service chosen by the buyer at Ebay "checkout" from the range of options given.

Within the UK, the insured values are: Second Class up to £20, Second Class Tracked 48 up to £150 and Special Delivery by 1pm up to £750. First Class and other services or higher levels of cover are available on request.

Within the EU, I regret that all items must now be sent by a tracked service and that an economy service cannot be offered. The insured value is £50. A higher value of up to £250 is available on request.

Rest of the World, the insured values are: Standard International  Air Mail up to £20 or International Tracked/Signed For (varies by country) up to £50. A higher value of up to £250 is available on request. Standard International Air Mail is not tracked and buyers need to select the "tracked" option at checkout if this facility/safeguard is required.

I will send worldwide with the exception of the Russian Federation and Belarus.

LOSS OR DAMAGE IN TRANSIT: In the very rare event of damage it is essential to adhere to the requirements of the carrier in order to make a claim valid against their insurance (up to the insured value as selected) and adherence to their timescales.  Photographs will be required of the packaging and damaged items (preferably in situ) and the packaging and contents must be retained as they may be required in accordance with the insurer's terms and conditions. For loss or damage, I retain certificates of posting for one month so any claim must be made within that time please. Refund for loss or damage is limited to the amount paid by the carrier in response to a claim in accordance with their terms and conditions and the maximum insured value as selected by the buyer (see above). Misplaced antennae or abdomens are easily re-affixed and would not be expected to give rise to an insurance claim.

LEGAL AND CONSERVATION: Specimens offered in these sales come from a private collection formed during the 20th century, but also containing older or historic specimens originating in other collections, and do not endanger wild populations. In the event that trade in a particular species is regulated by UK Law or international Law effective in the UK, bidders can be assured that I obtain Natural England licences for trade in such species and comply with the terms thereof. Potential buyers are invited to contact me for the licence number should they wish to assure themselves of this. Natural England state that specimens bred from captive stock do not require a licence. Prospective purchasers from overseas should ensure that they comply with the Law in their country of residence (which may differ) before bidding.
